An award-winning development team is looking for a new Junior Web Developer to help grow thier talented team
My client is an expanding web consultancy and digital media agency based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire that has been operating for over 20 years.
As an ambitious and growing company with a full order book into next year, they are looking for people who want to develop their skills and career in a professional working environment with a close team-spirit.
They have a large and varied client base in areas ranging from local culture (museums and galleries), to corporate organisations to the NHS and national medical societies. The consistent high quality of our work has ensured a steady stream of referrals to grow the business.
Your role would be to develop bespoke systems for clients using web technologies. This will include planning and implementing solutions from provided functional specifications and visual designs, by adapting and extending the in-house, award-winning CMS and CRM framework to fit each client’s unique business requirements.
They value independent thought and learning. It’s very important that all of the team, no matter how junior, get to contribute ideas and feedback that improves our products.
You’ll have the chance to work across all parts of our technology stack; including front-end layout and scripting, back-end business logic and integrations with third-party systems, and database design. To help you with this, you’ll receive coaching and support from the rest of our experienced technical team.
Existing solutions are built in ASP.NET Web Forms, however they are currently in the process of moving to .NET 8. We use Microsoft Azure as their choice of platform.
Its a hybrid working model, where the team works from the Leamington Spa offices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and remotely the rest of the time. This lets them provide the benefits of home-working while also giving our juniors a chance to observe and work side-by-side with our senior developers.
Ideally you would have experience of the following:
· An object-oriented programming language such as C# (or Java).
· Creating and using databases – practical experience of using either MySQL or Microsoft SQL would be an advantage.
· Web technologies including CSS and JavaScript, which you’re able to demonstrate with your own examples.
Knowledge of any of the below technologies would be a big advantage:
· .NET 6-8
· ASP.NET Web Forms
· Vue JS
· Typescript
· Development of AI-driven web-app features
Ideally, you’ll be a graduate or have other relevant, formal education or training. Commercial development experience (possibly from a placement) would be an advantage. You’ll have a thirst for technical problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
They are an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), similar to that of John Lewis, where the business is owned by and run for the benefit of employees.
The position has lots of career and personal development potential and benefits from flexible working conditions, a competitive salary and as part of an EOT share in the company profits.
